There's a tropical storm coming!

What a great time to stock up on some herbs to support your nervous system and help you be in a relax state to weather it.

Here's 3 suggestions::

•Passionflower: a relaxing herb that may help to reduce stress and tension. A cup before bed can also be helpful for promoting sleep due to it's ability to calm mental chatter.

How to prepare: Pour approximately 8oz of freshly boiled water over 1 tsp of passionflower. Cover and allow to steep for at least 15 mins. Strain (if you must). You can drink up to 4 cups a day.

•Lavender: this floral beauty helps to ease anxiety, relieve tension, lift mood and due to its analgesic properties may help with mild headaches or migraines.

How to prepare: Pour approximately 8oz of freshly boiled water over 1 tsp of lavender. Cover (you want the essential oils to drop back into your mug) and allow to steep up to 10 mins. You can steep longer for a stronger taste but doing so will make the tea bitter. Which is not a bad thing. Use caution with this remedy. It can be very sedating. Drink up to 2 cups a day.

•Valerian: not the best smelling remedy but a very potent one for the nervous system. Very relaxing offering a tranquilizing effect on the body. If sleep is not your best friend, you should give this a try.

How to prepare: Pour approximately 8oz of freshly boiled water over 1 tsp of valerian root. Cover ( you want the essential oils) and allow to steep for at least 30 mins. Strain ( if your sensitive to the aroma) and consume 30 mins before bedtime. You can also enjoy during the day but keep in mind that this root has a strong tranquilizing effect on the nervous system.

Now, can you combine them? Sure but get to know each one individually and see how it shows up for you. Then, explore blending. You just might find a new herbal bff.
